The Director of Collection Development and Management for the California Digital Library and UC System, Anderson was one of the key actors in the recent decision to end negotiations with Elsevier for a new journal subscription contract for the UC System, with the full support of the UC Academic Senate.  The discontinuation of the UC System Elsevier contract has widely been cited as a bellwether that other university systems may emulate.
